Question RSX 2nd Gear Lag

So i have an 2002 RSX Type S. I was driving it around and all of a sudden i was gonna step on it and in 2nd gear it would go no more than 4 thousand rpm it was like a rev limiter. So do you guys have any clue what the cause could be?

Have you checked your oil level?

4kprm limiter means the car is in limp mode. usually happens when you have a check engine light. do you have a light on? also check engine oil level like others have said

Yeah, my check engine light is on. The reason for that is cause the O2 sensor is bad which means it needs to be replaced. Plus I looked a the oil level one morning and i didnt see anything. Then i started it up and took it for a spin around the block and came back to look at the oil and wiped it and put it back and I noticed there was nothing on it. So what now? I REALLY NEED HELP!

Just as I told you it would be. Where was the oil level on dip stick b4 you went for a drive? This is very important.

Get an oil change. You may have an oil leak who knows. Id change the oil anyway. That old oil in an engine that hasnt been running for a while isnt good. You should always turn over the engine every now and again. You could have always been low on oil when you 1st sat the car for that period.

Yeah it wouldn't be because of a bad 02 sensor, it doesn't go in limp mode for that.

Take it to a shop and see what codes it throws out.

Thats really odd.

Try resetting your ECU.

To do this just either (A)Unplug your battery for about 15 minutes, (B)Remove the ECU Fuse in your fusebox for about 15 minutes.

Then after that simply put your key in for about 10 seconds, then start it. Don't press the gas pedal at all, and just let it sit for about 10-15 minutes and let it idle.

If it's in your ECU that might help you. I have to reset mine every now and then because me CEL comes on with my Racing Header in winter.
