Over the weekend, I had a sticky IAC valve. Bad enough it threw a CEL, took the IACV off and cleaned it out and popped it back together. Decided to take it for a drive today. To get out of the house mostly, but to see how well it would run and drive after the maintenance provided on Sunday.
Started my journey from my house in Vancouver, Washington and ended up at Long Beach, Washington. Basically drove north into Astoria, Oregon and dropped down Highway 101. Managed to score just shy of 31mpg, which is pretty awesome I think. For the longest time I couldn’t crack much over 26mpg, and couldn’t figure out why until today. So before you drop $200 plus on a IAC valve for your old Integra, grab a can of carb cleaner and see if blasting it out is all needs!! Here’s some photos from my trek today, hope you enjoy!
A shot in Astoria, Oregon. Just outside of the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Final destination in Longbeach, Washington After an initial spray of carb cleaner on IACV. IACV before cleaning.
