Questions about drivetrain warranty and mods....
Hey folks, my '06 Type S is a CPO car and am curious about it mods would void out the warranty. Of course you are probably pondering what kind of mods, lol. For my bday this year, a very good friend that does a lot of travel for work had the opportunity to go to the mother land of our fantastic cars and had a brand new still in honda packaging with the dealer invoice in Japanese and all ITR LSD shipped back to me. I am so excited. If I paid to have this installed by my dealer still sealed in the box, I am curious if it would void the warranty. Do any of you have experience with drastic mods like this during the warranty period and if so, what happened?
Hmm... idk this is tricky. If your dealer installs it I still don't think they will cover it if it breaks. I'm sure like if the install it and something with lets say electrical goes wrong your warranty will still cover that. Just be safe and get a straight up answer from your dealer. Goodluck and that sounds like one hell of a nice mod!
It all really boils down to your dealer's SM.
Some are nice, some just suck..
I've got two BMW dealers around me (I drive a 335i), and one is very strict, the other changed out my fuel pump twice for me, even with intake, bov, downpipes, and exhaust.
Legally, they BOTH should have done it regardless, since it is a known issue by BMW.
