Hey everyone! My name is Paul. I was looking for a sporty, reliable and pretty economical car for student. After all I came up with the Acure RSX. Right now I'm in process of buying 02 RSX with automatic Sequential SportShift transmission (I would get manual, but my sister is gonna have to drive it as well). So could you guys give me some advice about the SportShift. If I use it ocassionally to feel the car better, you know, won't I mess up the automatic tranny? Just tell me how reliable this type of tranny is. I heard they call it Tiptronic as well.

Eh, I'll try to help out the forum.

If RSX's Sportshift is anything like the TSX's then you won't have any problems. It wont let you mess up the tranny. Expect a .5 second delay in shifts though.

Also, Tiptronic was developed by Porsche then licensed it out to Audi and the like. Sequential SportShift is a slighty different technology build so technically it would be incorrect to call it "Tiptronic".

Welcome to Acurazine!

Our RSX forum is still new, but there are some members that know a lot about the nice lil hatchbacks.

If you need more info on the tranny, look at the TSX section. They share the same transmission for the years the RSX was out.
