Strut Bar

Hello everyone, was wondering if anyone has tried to install a strut bar on a 2.4L ILX. Do any of the ones available out for the civic SI Sedan fit the ILX? Thanks for any input.

I put the 2014 Si rear bar and mounts in my 2016 ILX but you need to drop the front subframe to do the front.

they are just meant for aesthetics..so if you want a pretty red bar across the engine bay for around ~$100-150, sure go ahead.
However, if you want a REAL upgrade in terms of body roll, you would need to get to the one UNDERNEATH the car, which is called a sway bar.

Edit* the strut bar would help prevent body flex! think like going up a driveway at an angle...the body flexes...however, if the windshield ISNT cracking without one..most likely a useless purchase.

Right, i already have the rear sway bar (19mm) from an Si installed already. I know strut bars are more effective the farther away the strut tower mounts are from the fire wall and weather or not that strut bar ties those shock towers to the firewall.

The car feels pretty good with only the rear sway and tein s-techs springs. I live in Michigan and we dont have the best roads here so dont wanna go too crazy with rigidity

if ya want to dress up the engine bay, go ahead!! I think they look nice.

in my TL, a strut bar came from the factory.
ive heard of people cracking their wind shield because they were too lazy to put it back on for a short test drive, after removing it for routine maintenance
