Bogus brakes ???

Hi all, ILX in question here is a 2019. With all this new fangled stuff they've been putting out i'm not sure if we have a brake issue or not. The brakes are inconsistently very touchy. To try to clarify.....sometimes they want to engage with just the slightest touch....and other times they react more normally. This is most notable while moving slowly as in a parking lot or similar. Has anyone else noted this issue? Or is it just normal for these cars. I haven't researched to see what activates the brakes yet.....still the old vacuum type?.....or have they moved to some kind of electric assist? Any info or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

My previous 2016 ILX also had very touchy brakes. It seemed like I wasn't able to smoothly engage them and would always be a little jerk when I first pushed on them.

My 2016 was like that. If the car thought there was something too close, it would prepare to apply brakes and make them extremely touchy. If the car applied brakes at the same time I did, it would almost put my face into the steering wheel. It would also apply brakes if I came up on a quick rise in the road or if a large bird flew across the road closely at windshield level.
