2017 Acura ILX Battery Draining/dead car
Hey y’all,
I have a 2017 ILX A spec premium with 64k miles. recently the battery kept dying between drives so i replaced the battery. this fixed the problem for about a week and the problem arose again.
I took it to the dealer and they said it needed a new positive battery/starter cable. ($500 installed) After getting it installed immediately the next day the car struggled to start.
Does anyone have a similar problem or any suggestions on what the problem could be?

Hmm its not too old of a vehicle, but it is possible you have a bad device somewhere causing a parasitic drain. Take a multi-meter and measure the milliamps across your battery. The normal operating range is roughly 0-50 ma. If you are reading higher than that then you may need to troubleshoot further. With the meter still connected to the battery, (use aligator clips if you have them to keep the leads connected, or have a friend hold them), and then open up your fuse box and start removing each fuse one by one. When you come across the fuse that is associated with the bad device and remove it, the ma reading should then revert back to it's normal operating range. Locate that device and replace/fix it to eliminate this problem. I did this on my 2008 Acura TL because I had the same issue with the battery constantly dying even though it was new. Obviously there are other factors that could cause this issue, but this solved my problem. Good luck!!

My '16 was my summer car and I would disconnect the battery during the winter because of this (garage kept).
