I'm having some issue's, here's the email I have sent Camco Acura in Ottawa, after several appointments.


Electrical;

On top of what's attached, I’m also getting a key fob error that I showed you at my last visit, and also a transmission failure error a few months ago that was cleared by your tech’s.
I have noticed when washing car, water runs down the doors it will unlock then relock, happens more then once!?! My 2014 Civic Si never has any of these issue’s and it uses the same tech.


-Key Fob
-Radio
-Trans
-Lane keep
-Adap. control radar
-Elec. P/S
-coll. mitigation
-road depart.



Mechanical;

-Hood loose
-Loose sunroof air deflector
-Rattle at 1,900 rpm
-Driver left side vent not clipping in
-Driver dash molding left side not clipping in.
-Valve cover fumes come in cabin when sitting at red light. (My 2012, 2013 Civic Si did the same thing. My 2014 Civic Si doesn’t do it. No smell coming in)
-Pass seat plastic cover; separating, and it is the more expensive piece that needs replacing, I have looked. molded clips deformed on that side so replacing other piece will not help, waste of time.
-HVAC blower; squeaking under 0C temps. I replaced, could not wait/fight with Dave any longer, noise was bothering me too much.
-Small pass. rear window; was getting salt creep around inside rubber seal. Will need to wait till winder again to rep.

All these issue’s I have went through with Egor on a road test last summer, so these are not new. Whether is was documented I don’t know but should have.






All in all James I’m very disappointed with Honda’s Acura division QC depart. when building this ILX. If these problems keep coming back or can’t get resolved I’ll be looking to trade this in. I have a lot of people ask me about this car, I’m now saying stay away from this ILX at least the first year of the refresh.

update: I went to another dealer "Casino de Acura" on the QC side and they found TSB that came out a month ago on replacing the tuner that fixes radio presets from disappearing and or showing %$#&! or mixing up station number to random. Unit is located in the trunk.

They also fix the loose hood and hood to fender gap by loosening the two bolts on the pass side that hold the hood to the hinge and at the same time getting another to pull down then tightening bolts making the hood sit flatter on the cowling so it doesn't flap in the wind.

Unless you Private Messaged a mod you may not ever see a response if the people reading don't know the answer.

I for one don't. But I can see you are a little frustrated with the lack of responses so I'm hoping to at least push you in the right directions.

As for editing posts. On these forums you get 5 minutes I think before a post is locked. After that only a mod can edit it. Kind of dumb. Actually extremely dumb as many forums I have been on let you edit your post a year later.

However there is a lot of childish bickering that goes on with the forum vets and even with a lot of the moderators. Being able to edit a post way later would subject the bickering to a lot of confusion because people would just edit an argument in their favor. I 100% believe this to be the reasoning behind not letting us edit posts after 5 minutes.

If I were you I would attempt to claim the car is a lemon if you see all those issues. Forget Acura/Honda and contact one of those lawyers that fight for lemon law car owners.

Any chance there was snow or frost on upper windshield or grill? If the camera and/or radar can't see properly you'll get these faults.

I have three pages of issues about my car and Acura states the car is fine that is just all the computer stuff on the car and I an not used to it. transmission jerking and clunking, car surges lights flash on and off over and over on sunny days and so may more issues. I am sick about it. Acura told me I can trade in my brand new car wiht less than 4k miles on it for another piece of Acura garbage.

I think they are gone guys. They bitched about no responses after 4 days so I responded. It has now been 2 months and they wont even respond to my response. They're gone. Good riddance.

Loved my old acura, have you tried claiming the car is a lemon? You can contact 3rd party companies to check the car out and fight for you if they agree it is a lemon. There are lemon car laws so if they deem it is in fact a lemon Acura is required to respond to them or else face other repercussions the 3rd party group should be able to fill you in on.

You can also find some groups that are state specific but not sure where you live. So start there and see what happens.

Maybe even call Acura and let them know you are going through a 3rd party to claim this is a lemon car. Not sure if that would help or not... maybe not. lol

not sure why you'd say Good riddance!!!..........kinda of an asshole-ish thing to say! good thing ppl can hide behide the internet cuz theres no way ppl would say that to anothers face just like that so easily.


These ILX are not made very well. I still get this raddle when its cold out like a loose heat shield and yes this car has hesitation when stopping and restarting, only way to stop this is to wait few secs before passing back on the gas. Also a clunking in the trans when going from the cars momentum to the engine powering the wheels, like there some play in the gears, but alot of play.

claim a lemon is going to be alot of work and plus I'm in Canada so no states here, but thx for advise anyways. All I want to see is if alot of others are having these same issues. So far it's seems that either A alot of ppl are tight lipped or B there is just not many that own this car, especially the A-Spec cuz for what you get for the price is just not worth it. Thats why you don't see a lot of these on the road, not worth the money! If I would have know about this before hand I would have NEVER bought this car! As of this writing I have over 100,000 kms on it. And I have my automotive license so guys I do know what I'm talking about, I'm not just some joe-blow guy that just knows how to put gas in the car!

I would look at your battery. It's been well known with Acuras that if your battery is running low, your electronics will start acting very strange.

There is no guarantee that is the issue, but it's cheap enough to find out (personally, I would just replace it rather than test it, as I have seen erroneous test outputs before for whatever reason, and it is cheap enough to do.)

It is fairly possible there was a defect with your battery or it was switched for some reason, or used for boosting several other cars, or whatever.

yeah I've since switched it out for a yellow top, and since then no more issues with the sensors going off. Only one electrical issue i notice at times is when washing the car it keeps locking and unlocking it's self thinking the water is my hand with a pressure washer when the keyfob is in my pocket. Odd cuz I have never seen my 2014 civic do this and it uses the same setup.

The radio on the satellite input sometimes gets stuck where it's won't load for 5-10 mins, just blank, and or all the input are blank but the station sound is coming throw, or repeats the same station title resets twice but the sound is the correct station. Before I had the turner replaced it was worse were it would have all my resets copied the same and would show ^&%$^(&*) as a name till i rebooted the radio.

I still find there to be major lag when on blutooth changing songs. My civic is crisp and fast. I see there is a new firmware update and navi update avail.

Here's the same issue returning again when there is snow/ice on the ground. Seems that when the front wheels spin too much it throws a transmission error then immediately the blind spot detection follows and turns off, they must be tired together some how. Only way to clear this is turn the car off then back on again.

Later that day I went to the dealer "Camco" where I bought this car and where I reported this same issue last winter in warranty when it happened the first time. At that time service said if it happens again to bring it back and they will replace "a sensor" they gave me an invoice stating the issue and the daig. which i still have for proof.
So when I brought it back this time they basically told me to go away as I'm now out of warranty now. I called Honda/Acura Customer Relations 1-888 number and explained whats going on.
They will be launching a investigation as to why Camco Acura refused me, They said if the issue was documented when in warranty then they will force dealership to preform the repair on the defective part. And I also put in an official complaint about there customer service. Acura HQ said they take this serous and will be investigating.

Guys I'm telling yeah never buy a vehicle from Camco Acura here in Ottawa, Ontario Canada, their service department will treat you like shit. They make me feel so low every time I try to deal with them, they push me away and never help. Bring your business to Gatineau Acura . I know it's a little far but they actually help you out, and a guy named Jeff in service is very nice. He even said a lot of people have had this issue with Camco.
