2016 ILX key redesign

As we all know, the 2013-2015 ILX key is a cheap plastic that quickly shows wear. The 2016 key is redesigned and looks like it will hold up much better. Anyone know if we can buy the 2016 key and program it to work with our older cars?

it's usually involves swapping the internals and having the dealership cut the physical key.

the good thing about the two keys is that they DID NOT CHANGE button placement! so, I think you can swap the internal motherboard right over to the new set. then have the dealership cut the physical key and pair it to your car.

New fob isnt bad looking.

Mine looks great though in a leather sleeve. Little wear since I got the sleeve.

the other side of the FOB key wears easily. It has this clear rubbery plastic cover on it to give it depth, although it started scratching up easily and now it looks foggy.

I can confirm; reverse side of the 2016 FOB DOES scratch fairly easily...
