2016 ILX 8 Speed DCT problems?
I just got a 2016 ILX a couple weeks ago and I am a little concerned and confused on the 8 Speed transmission.
First it seems as though the TLX was greatly effected by improper software, while the ILX has not had these issues?
Others have stated these issues* are more so the nature of driving a DCT? True or false?
I have noticed coming to a stop (coasting) sometimes there will be a herky jerky motion and the car will surge. I have noticed (not in sport) from a dead stop or at lower speeds accelerating hard isn't as responsive. Once going from park to reverse I felt a hard bump.
Are these normal or just a sign of a poor DCT?

Seems pretty prevalent in most 2016 ilx's. I would say it's just the nature of the car. It'd be really nice if Acura would come out with some kind of update that resolved the issues but I wouldn't bet on it.
I noticed it on a brand new 2016 ilx I was test driving on the lot also.

The more and more I drive the car it seems this is just how a DCT is. Nothing horrific. Actually the VCM on my old Accord Coupe V6 was more annoying when constantly shutting down cylinders

the car is bad news wait until it surges and you about rear end a car in front of you that has happened twice for me along with a long list of other issues. worst mistake I made buying this car.
Acura will give you the run around. I hope you have better luck than I.

It sounds like the transmission changed from a higher gear to first. This will result in suddenly having more engine braking and the revs will pop up higher. I wonder if your torque converter is still locked at your low coasting speed?
Note that small engine Hondas often have a big gap between first and second gears and this could be what you are feeling too.
2) accelerating isn't as responsive
This sounds like the DCT was confused about what you wanted to do and was caught out having pre-selected the wrong gear. Could be a programming issue, or it could be you being wishy-washy on the throttle (I find a lot of automatic-only drivers are this way).
3) park to reverse
I don't believe you should ever feel a hard bump doing this. Was it on a slope? If you didn't have the parking brake set on a slope you might have had pressure on gears in the transmission maybe.
