Map light in Front (change color)

I have recently replaced some lighting in the 2016 ILX, but obviously the front interior map light is not replaceable. It's is built into the PCB that has the garage opener, the moon roof opener and the other AcuraLink buttons. While they are LED, the color is somewhat yellowish. I like the white color LEDs that you get from most LED kits, although you could argue that not LEDs are the same and they come in different kelvin ratings (obviously). Either way, I was looking at changing the color on those LEDs. As far as I can tell it's not easy, and the only way it would be possible is by putting some sort of a transparent blue-ish filter in front of the light. Has anybody attempted to do this, and was it successful?

if LED is attached to PCB, you'll have to desolder LED and then solder on new LED

Not just that. You need to take into account the difference in forward voltage of a different color. This will change the resistance that the LEDs need for long term useage. It is the same case with the 3G TL side markers. People kept doing plug and play soldering on the LEDs and they always burnt out early because the factory resistors were valued for the Amber LEDs, not white.
