ILX - three button area on left-hand side of steering wheel...Ideas?

ILX - three button area on left-hand side of steering wheel...Ideas?
I know these are for add-ons, such as switches, etc, but the lack of storage compartments in an ILX is crazy to me. Honda's had a small compartment in this area in the Accord models. Any one know of a solution for the ILX's? Mine is a 2015 ILX. What are the three buttons for anyway? The dealership said one could be used for fog lights, but my fog lights work with the actual light control arm.
