I don't think it will... something about codes. Even same engine, same car, but different year won't work supposedly.

 

Well it should work it said so directly from hondata.com that this was for an 13+ ilx application, but from this site is it trustworthy? because why is there a $290 and a hondata flashpro for $700

 

Ah Ok... I dunno... Honestly maybe as simple as they bought a bunch for ILX and couldn't sell them? Overstock? Call them and confirm price maybe... Or could also check the Hondata website for authorized vendors...

That's a HONDATA reflash. That means you have to send in your ECU to HONDATA directly.

You have a used one for sale? wouldnt that do me no good considering that it will be married to the car you used it for? correct me if im wrong im just basing assumptions off an accessport

 

It's the same as the accessport. The Hondata Flashpro can only be locked to 1 specific VIN # for your vehicle and cannot be used to tune another car (same generation model of course). In order to use the FP for another car the FP have to be UNLOCKED from previous car (rendering the previously locked car back to stock tune) and LOCKED to your car for use.

Be aware of scams on used units from the forums as some will sell you an expensive paper weight. Always make sure that the seller proves that the FP is unlocked from the car and ALWAYS ALWAYS use Paypal (do not send $$ as gift because if you get a defective unit paypal will not get your money back due to sending as a "gift" giving and not expecting anything back). Just pay the fee as it is not much $$ for cover you on backside protection for a buyer.

If you do not plan on tuning the car with supportive mods, then the re-flash will do just fine. I have a down-pipe, cold air intake, and the re-flash. Those are the only performance mods I plan on doing, so the re-flash was all that's needed. I've noticed a gain with the re-flash (money well spent).
