My husband buy an Acura ILX 2 weeks ago and the dealer cannot find the second key so we purshase a second one but when the technician came to program the key it was impossible because it looks like there was a key in the car. We search again and again and did no find that key. The only thing that we didn't do was to strip the bankets. The concessionner is no help either!!!! The technician tell us that it was possible to reset the computer in the car and to start over but the concessionner tell us that we are at risk that the car don't respond correctly and don't start again, Is there someone here who ever had a similar problem because I am ressourceless....excuse my english because I am a french canadian. Any help will be gladly welcome! THANKS!!

 

When they tried to program the 2nd key, did they get an error that there is an key inside the cabin of the car?

They should be able to program 2 new fobs as long as you have 1 with the car now.

Have you tried another dealer?

 

It sounds like they're doing something wrong. Like aksilx said, 2 new fobs can be programmed. Do you have any updates to this?
