Audio system + ELD

Hi guys, new on this forum familiar with hondas and Acura. A little background here, I previously owned 9th Gen accord sport 6mt, was all done up (bagged, 3p wheels, audio, bunch of engine related mods, etc). Currently I am actually not a Acura or Honda owner anymore. My girlfriend is. That drove me here. I will be doing a few things to her 16' ILX (base model).
First thing will be audio install. I know there are threads on this but I surprisingly haven't read much if any info about Acura's ELD (electronic load detection system). Now my accord had it and the simple way to get full voltage out of the alternator was unplug the negative terminal connector that goes to the ELD. This would trigger a "check charging system" notification every time the car was started. Annoying but I lived with it for 4 years lmao. At that time I was running jbl power series comps and coax of a ct 75.4, a ct AT1400.1 to 4 Sundown E8v5s ported tuned to 30hz, xs power D3400 under the hood and a 5100R in the trunk. 1/0 awg big 3, 1/0 awg to trunk battery. Voltage never dipped below 13.2v full tilt between the Batts.
For all the guys doing audio related installs on these cars this is what I know and I'm here to share my experience and knowledge.
1. If the ELD is still enabled, I assume when you're driving with headlights off or ac off, you're battery voltage is around 12.5v (alternator off)
2. This will put a lot of stress on all electrical components in the vehicle and ultimately could damage something
3. A second battery will not fix this problem
4. ELD only registers current draw taken after the ELD system (somewhere in the fuse box) therefore if you're power wire is off the battery the ELD will not know how much power you are needing

What I will be installing:
- Sundown SA-8v1.5 ported maybe a 6th order series enclosure (need to recone it first)
- Rockford Fosgate P1000-1bd so the sub will be wired at 1 ohm.
- audio control ACM4.300
- deciding on components for the fronts and coax for the rear, maybe hertz dieci, Polk dB series, image dynamics, still looking around at budget friendly speakers
- 1/0 awg + big 3
- sound deadening
- battery was recently replaced so not going to worry about that for now depending on what voltage drop looks like.

I'm a big car audio enthusiast. My daily is actually a lifted Volvo xc70, focal flax comps, 2 ways, audiocontrol LC. 6-1200, 4 E8v5s on the ct sounds 1400.1, xs power D3400, 5100R, 0awg everything, lots of deadener. More to come for that vehicle since I'm building an enclosure for a sundown x15 6th order series and gonna upgrade the amp to a sundown sfb3k. Also have a 250A singer HO alternator.
If anyone wants to see some of my toys and builds my Instagram is: bmassssy

below is a few pics of items I already have. My goal is to bypass the ELD without triggering a notification. Does anyone have a wire diagram of the ELD system and I have read about a resistor mod to trick the system into high output mode without the error?

Found no output from the amp. After diagnosing, I found a bad transistor that regulates voltage, bad zener diode, changed the output filter cap to a new one, also found a bad solder joint on a resist. She sings now. Actually not going to use this amp. I picked up a Rockford T500-1bd for a good price that will be powering the sub.

First time recone a sub. Came out good no coil rub.

Build is going slow. Just been lazy nothing has been installed yet but hopefully building the enclosure soon and then installing. Still gotta figure out what speakers I want to run. Maybe sundown E series components and coax but those won't be available till sometime early 2021 for the comps and then summer 2021 for the coax. Maybe infinity ref or kappas. We'll see. Also gotta dig into this ELD bs and see if I can create a bypass.

LOL 3 years and nothing happened besides life, work and other things that get in the way.. Recently got t-boned by someone pulling out on a main road from a store. The vehicle is at the shop and is expected to make a full recovery. Damages are in at around $6.5k. Once it comes back I think I'll dive into this. I will probably not even bother trying to bypass the ELD. But I would definitely be adding an auxiliary battery. This is going to be a budget build.

What I have so far:
  • Sundown E series components - for front doors
  • Sundown E series 2 way/coax for rears
  • D4S 4awg OFC wiring kit
  • Kinetik HC2000
  • Speaker baffle adapters
  • Left over misc sound deadening material
  • Sub amp options: Rockford T500-1bd, Defective JL 500/1 (plan on repairing it), might lean toward the JL due to its R.I.P.S circuitry and constant output
  • Sundown Audio SD-12D4 v4, I don't think I'll use the SA-8 for this build.

  • Speaker amps I have: I have an older Boston Acoustic GTA 5 channel, a Boston Acoustics GTA 4 channel, Audiocontrol ACM4.300, maybe a couple other ones in storage lol. Or get a JL 300/4.
I do plan on getting a Kicker Keyloc for integration and possibly fabbing up a DDIN faceplate for undecided HU, can use a idatalink maestro RR to connect the radio to factory harness and retain all oem controls. This would take some time.
The goal is to have a clean good sounding system that doesn't consume much space. The sub will be in a sealed enclosure because the SD line is designed for sealed compact boxes. The amps will probably get mounted to the enclosure utilizing isolators on the "rack" to prevent vibrations.

I have a 19 ILX. I'm doing the Same thing, putting a D3400 in the front. Did it fit?

Never tried a d3400 in the ILX but we did put a group 124R in there and fits. Either make your own hold down plate or use a small ratchet strap.

Thanks. I think the group 34r should fit. I got a group 27 adjustable tray off amazon, and brought a 2014 honda accord V6 battery tray. I have a Sundown SA12V2 running at 1 ohm on a JP13 amp. A taramps DS800X4 running 4 PRV 6.5 neodymiums, and a 8 inch PRV where my stock subwoofer was. That's running off a Taramps TS400x4. Everything is running of stock eletrical so battery will help big time. I'm also gonna install the big 3 as well. When I have more money in the future I'll get a HO alt.
