Wind noise after speaker upgrade 2019 ILX- Found Issue!

So after upgrading my door speakers I had this really awful high pitch wind noise from my driver side door that sounded like it was right next to my ear while driving. After a week of adding door sealant rubber trim and trying to isolate it I found it was the rubber plug with wires going to the mirror behind the tweeter. It must have been slightly pulled in the wrong direction because moving it slightly fixed the wind noise. Just in case anyone else experiences this. Check that plug behind the tweeter. It was driving me crazy! Lol.

Drive with that tweeter cover off and then move it around. You will know instantly if that’s the problem.

I have wind noise on my 2016 from that area. Dealer replaces wind channel trim and it still has noise when window is down. Tried tweeter trim fix and it’s atill making noise. Did the rubber boot in the mirror look out of place? Mine looked fine.

That plug looked fine to me. Mine would start around 60-65 mph plus. I would recommend driving with that entire trim pc off and maybe even the door panel off if that doesn’t work to try and narrow down the location. I thought I was going to have to do something(like insulate it better) with that plug but ended up just adjusting it slightly while driving and it corrected the problem.
