And, the trunk was by far the easiest area to do, if you have a flexible back lol
Yeah I think my back can handle it. It seems like it might be easier for me to do than take apart the doors. I'm fairly handy, but, it looks intimidating

One of these days I'll try to bribe my girlfriend to video me taking the door off. She's pro-level photographer and does decent video work, so maybe I can narrate a walk-through. It's fairly simple, it just scares a lot of people the first time and maybe the video can give you more of an idea how it all happens. Luckily I learned how to take apart cars many years ago on cheap cars like Mustangs so now I am not scared to take anything apart!

Yep, since this is the most expensive car i've ever bought, i'm a little bit scared to pry the door panel off haha. So i figured i'd start with the trunk

I broke my promise

Don't judge my shoddy cuts on the door, I went back and cleaned them up!

~ Hard to tell but this is the rear deck and that hole is where the sub would be

The trunk, before I finished along the edges.

And, just rep'n.. you know.

Thanks everyone

Ordered all my 5K LED lights. Going to replace all but the turn signals and brake lights.

Anyone interested in pictures/walkthroughs on them?

Yes please!
How many square feet of dynamat did you probably use in the trunk?

Ha, I wish I could tell you off hand. I can tell you I used about 60% of a bulk pack on the trunk itself. For people who want to just do a modest upgrade on the sound you could do the rear deck, under the seat and the doors. That will kill some ambient noise and cut out some of the exhaust drone while making your speakers perform better.

I got my dynamat from www.onlinecarstereo.com
I have used them several times over the course of the past 6 years and they always have good customer service and some of the best prices.

I will get those pictures up as soon as I get the LEDs in.

Nice pics Trent!
Thanks for your time.
I never really noticed all the road noise in the trunk area untill I sat in the back of the car this weekend. How did the dynamat treatment work in this area for you?

The back seat is quieter than the front seat

I did much more in the back in terms of eliminating sound.. I still have a ways to go for the front. The rear I was able to deaden the rear deck, under the rear seat, the whole trunk, and rear doors. I am hoping I can get a similar effect in the front once I dynamat some of the firewall and spray my front fenderwells.

Spraying the front fender wells did a lot for mine. I used Second Skin Spectrum and just used a modest amount. It sets up better in warmer weather though, just a fair warning.

Have you thought about going over the top of the deadener with a closed cell foam?

Something like this

That should help cut down the rest of the audible noises. I did my previous car (cobalt) with the damplifier Pro, Overkill and then Luxury Liner Pro on the floor boards and with the car in park and the engine off you thought you went deaf. Awesome stuff.

I have been considering getting my car sprayed with second skin. I just dont know any local shops that do that kind of work.

I am not gonna do a foam over it just for weight purposes. I am okay with adding some weight but I dont wanna go overboard.

If you have an air compressor, Second Skin sells the gun to shoot the spectrum. Or if your okay waiting a week or two.. i'd be fine with mailing you mine to use.

You just hook it up to your air compressor and adjust the pressure setting lower, (at least I had to). You can get a gallon or 5 gallon online for probably the cost of actually getting the car undercoated.

My dad has an air compressor he'd let me use. I have never done anything like that. I assume you can just tape everything off that you dont want hit by it and jack the car up and just spray around?

I am intrigued by this option you have presented.

Yup. Here is a link to the product with video how to's. Pretty simple. If you can get the car on the lift it's super easy. Just walk, shoot, let dry before driving.

Spectrum by the Gallon
Spectrum Spray Gun

someone is selling a front eibach sway bar if you want to snag it. You can buy the rear sway bar and potentially save money that way.

175 (which is steep), but he's willing to negotiate...I'd name a price based on the cost of the rsb and how much it costs to get the front and rear rsb in a package. But, to be honest, I recommend forgoing the whole fsb idea altogether
