Good stuff. Sam always does a nice job on his reviews. I'm anxious to get behind the wheel of a '16 ILX for a similar evaluation, and I'll have the exact same car that he did in a couple weeks. It's getting passed around the Phoenix test fleet right now and will come my way for 7 days on Weds 7/22 so I have a fun mountain drive planned for that weekend. Wow this review totally rips the ConsumerReports one to shreds lol. I love it!


I agree with its slightly nebulous feel when in Drive mode, but I've gotten used to it over the months of ownership and now it doesn't bother me.
With so many gears, and so much low end torq, the engine really doesn't need to rev that much to get you around town, once you settle into this fact its no issue.

If only he tried bashing the throttle while in SportM mode, once you lock it in a gear with the paddle shifters this car behaves very linearly as several personal mountain canyon excisions have shown me with startling clarity. I had no problem keeping on the heels of a modified 2015 M3 last evening through the twists and straights especially once you realize how much zest the engine has from 5000-7000rpm.
