Suspension question: 2014 vs 2016

Hey everyone!

I'm new here and I figured someone can maybe help me out. I have a 2014 ILX now I have it lowered on Megan racing coilovers. At the time I got my ILX no coils were offered so with some research I found that 2013 civic si had the same chassis.
I'm thinking about trading in my ILX for a 2016 ILX and was wondering if they have the same chassis? If anyone knows it would help greatly.

Hey look at that! Haylzya and Alfred came to join us in the forums.

Here is what oemacuraparts has on the 13 verse 16 suspension...
OEM Acura ILX 2013 FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER parts
13^

OEM Acura ILX 2016 FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER parts
16^

From the picture it seems the suspension is identical. But from the parts numbers it seems like the parts are different. For example, your and my stock springs are #51401-TX6-A04 while the same spring for the 16 is #51401-T3R-A02

Currently right now Godspeed is looking for a 16 ILX to r&d coilover applications while they already have their coilovers on two different 13-15 ILXs. This makes me believe that Godspeed thinks the applications will be different.
Before anyone asks I checked the 16 Aspec verse non aspec and all parts numbers are the same. Maybe Godpseed will be able to shine a light once they get their hands on an ILX.

Also, I would attempt to ask Chan_Mike if he could help any. He works with Pembroke Acura and has put coilovers on a 16 ILX. Not sure if he would be able to simply provide pics of the 16ILX coilover and their mounting location or if there was another way he could check. He was able to provide me with pics of the back of a wheel they sell... all be it with a bit of resistance. Ask him nicely and he may be able to help!

Aside from that, to answer your question the chassis should be identical so one would assume the suspension applications will be as well. It has been said they didnt touch any of the metal under the bumper covers so suspension, exhaust, etc should all be able to switch over. I cant yet say for sure though.

Welcome to the forums. Been following the IG since before you lowered Alfred and always loved Sparky. Makes me really wish I could have kept my integra when I bought the ILX!

Thank you for the welcome!
It's always good hearing from someone familiar.
I really appreciate the help and insight on this.. I guess when I get one I will just try the suspension out and hopefully it will work if not then we will have to see.. I'm not dead set on trading it in yet cause I do love my ILX (Alfred)
I will do a little more research I do have a guy at Acura that handles my parts for sparky so maybe he can give me a definitive answer on Alfred.
When I find out I will be sure to share

Please share soon lol
I've been waiting for someone to confirm if the 2013-2015 coilovers will fit on my 2016. I have asked heeltoeauto and they said it should fit but they have not tested it either.
Wish someone local had an ilx lowered on coilovers so I'm able to test them and provide a answer to the forum. But this car is still new and not many people have done mods to it yet.

The prior generation coilovers for 13-15 ILX DO NOT work on the 2016 ILX. The rears bolt up perfectly fine but the fronts do not align correctly therefore giving you -12+ camber in the front. Godspeed Project will have something for the 2016 ILX soon!

JK, godspeed Project has them in already. Only in the mono rs and mono ss. I would recommend the Mono-MAX though.
