will the hp and torque bump make it faster than my brother's 2014 v6 accord?
Is the interior that much nicer than the civic ex-l's?
I have an s2000. can i fit my s2k's 17x9 enkei rpf1's in the back and 17x8 in the front?

Yes, the interior is far superior to the Civic. Everything is a step or two above.
Hard to say about the wheels, but with the seats folded down, I don't see why they wouldn't fit.

I'm just gonna be blunt. Just stick with your car kid - you stated some lame ass reasons to upgrade. Civic Ex-L is a nice car. You're good.

An S2000! Wow.. you already have a cool and fun car. You don't need an ILX to get faster than your brother. Your civic is just 2 years old so you will take a big depreciation hit.

Civic:
My civic is a nice for a commuter car, but I find it a little slow on acceleration. Also the steering feel is very light and over assisted. Had I not seen all the new upgrades on the 2016 ilx i would be content to keep it. It looks to be all that i want from a commuter car.

NOW - you are being more descripitive, and describing something more mature then "being faster then your brother". If you can't handle constructive criticism, then don't ask for it. Common sense.
If you don't mind taking the depreciation hit, then do what you want. Money-wise - its a bad choice. But its your money. The ILX IS nicer and faster. But with your Civic EX-L you already have Leather and a very similar interior anyway. But you have an S2000, if I were you I'd stick with what you got, its not exactly a bad stable.

I went ahead and did the opposite, traded my 2005 s2k in for a 2015 right off the showroom
Can't really compare the two, my S was pure sex in terms of raw sportiness. I don't see myself missing the stop n go traffic but the seats in the S were to die for. The ILX seats cannot compare, I did a 9 hour road trip in the S and never got tired from the seats. The 40 minute drive home in the new ILX had my butt sore
I'll probably have to get used to the ILX and change seat position.

While changing up your S2000 for a more practical car is a good move, I will throw out the obligatory "you'll be back".
For the OP, your plan to trade up to an ILX is a poor financial choice as you will lose money on the Civic. This is particularly the case if you are upside down on your car loan. If you must do it, the ILX is indeed faster and has nicer appointments. Just understand you will lose money, and probably a lot of it.

The Civic is nice too... I recognize it as the emergency refresh Honda made after the 2012 model year was panned by reviewers. A manual would have helped you manage the limited power better, but I'm guessing your commute doesn't lend it self well to a stick.
Yes, as nice as the Civic is, the ILX is more refined. But you will take a financial hit, and maybe the money can go into your S2000. Or, life happens and you may be looking for a TLX or RDX down the road.
Anyway, you have a nice stable as is.

No room for 2 cars (of your own, plus hers)? Or also she might have to drive your ride and she couldn't drive stick, huh? See, I like stick, but these issues may kill it for me in the future.... NOOOOOOOOOO

Getting married, mortgage payments coming up, condo only has 1 parking spot... the boys were right. It's starting to look more and more like a mistake haha
Jokes aside, it's just the better choice to downsize in the car department into one instead of paying insurance for two. Plus, she can't drive stick :S
