Just checked, there are similar leases available for the ILX too

I really think that once the 2014s start rolling in, the ilx will pick up. The base model is such a compelling offer.

Also, the ilx base is 270 a month with 0 down...the base has cloth seats. Why not pay the 60 more a month and get a bigger car, with leather, a bigger engine, hids, etc.

LOL, except for the $60 more per month part I'm with you. Seriously, $60 a month is a HUGE sum to people shopping for cars in this range.

Personally, the TSX is too large a car. I still find it hilarious that people 'love' this car now while it was reviled in 2008 for being 'bloated', 'ruined', 'underpowered', 'ugly', 'overpriced' over the 1G TSX.

Still getting updates monthly, but haven't been posting them in here.

September 2013 was the ILX's lowest selling month of the year. However, it was also the lowest month for TSX and TL. Acura's SUV lineup (MDX, RDX) continues to carry the brand. In case anyone was wondering:

ILX Sales in Units
  • Jan - 1558
  • Feb - 1997
  • Mar - 2059
  • Apr - 1894
  • May - 1709
  • Jun - 1507
  • Jul - 1482
  • Aug - 1701
  • Sep - 1363

Acura needs to fix this. They know how.

All I'm going to say.

Thought I'd share this graphic a friend (who works for Acura) sent me.

ILX sales:
  • 2012: 12,251 units (remember, the ILX was only on sale after May that year)
  • 2013: 20,430 units

January 2014: 1,157 units

Interestingly, Jan 2014 was the first time TSX has dipped below 1,000 units (sold 893). Honda Newsroom press release here.

Can't wait to see what the TLX will bring. Next on the block is ZDX, then hopefully a nice big update to the ILX

Old thread, just thought I'd share a fun fact. The ILX just exceed 50,000 overall units sold since it went on sale in May 2012. Honda released December 2014 sales figures today (ILX sold 1,730 that month).

Total ILXs ever sold: 50,535

Edit: But before you get too excited, and to put things in perspective: Honda sold 31,000 Accords in a single month. So any ILX you see on the road, by comparison, is quite rare. Happy motoring.

So it took them 32 months to do what they were originally hoping to do in 15-16 months.

It does make you wonder how things might have been had ED drivetrains been ready at launch instead of 3 years later.
