New '16 ILX

New '16 ILX
Technology plus with A-SPEC. Paid $32,500 before tax and title. I love the car and also test drove the IS250, A3, and a Subaru WRX before making decision. I also test drove the TLX which is a great car, but bigger than I wanted. Maybe I am a little biased because my wife loves her '13 RDX, but I don't understand some of the critics that bash the car. Living in the upper Midwest, I'd love an AWD option, but other than that, this car is a great all around and is fun to drive! I am 6'3 and headroom is a tad tight, but that's true of most cars in this class. Performance-wise, the car has plenty of pep and a smooth transmission. Great technology for the price too!

Welcome to the '16 ILX family.
Yeah everyone who's actually owned the car feels all of the negetive reviews have have come off as simply personal/intentional bias.
The overwhelming amount of us feel the '16 refresh is exactly what the car deserved and it really holds its own against comparators that are 5-10k more expensive.

Congrats on the purchase. She's a beauty! I was personally debating between the ILX and the IS250 myself, and ended up with the ILX. the 2016 ILX has a bigger punch to it than the previous years and it just makes it a good buy compared to the IS250 which is thousands of dollars more expensive even for the base model, and if you want to have the same features as the ILX Tech Package or Tech Package with A-Spec, well you're going to have to pay even more for the Lexus. I do like the look of the Lexus, but the ILX is just as sexy in its unique way.

It looks great.
I'm seriously considering an ILX my only issue is headroom. I sat in one and I'm real close to hitting my head where the moonroof ends. It's enough that static pulls my hair to the ceiling. Other than that, I really like the rest of the car.
Since you're taller than me (I'm just over 6') I'll be curious to see how you feel about it going forward.

Personally, if you are about 6', I cannot imagine you'd have a problem in the ILX. I adjusted my seat and found something really comfortable for me. So far the longest I have driven the car at one time was about an hour and ten minutes and I was comfortable the whole way.
Of the cars I test drove, the Lexus IS250 clearly had the most headroom for a car that was about the same size as the ILX. However, the ILX felt like it had more headroom than the A3 and the same as the WRX. I also have sat in a 2 series BMW driver's seat and though the ILX was about the same as that. If you are looking at a compact car, I think the ILX's headroom is about what to expect from the competitors. If you can bump up to a mid-size, I thought the TLX was great and had plenty of room. Personally, I am a city driver with a short commute, so I wanted a compact car.

I love my new ILX, so much the business bought 2! The only thing I'm having issues with is the breaks squeaking all the time after 1200 miles. On both of them.. And fighting with the dealership to get them fixed is aggravating. Other than that I love our cars!

This is just a commuter car for me(80miles daily), and I wanted something with a nicer interior, gets decent mileage and still has enough HP to get out of its own way.
I really like the Acura Watch safety stuff which is why I also am looking at a boring Legacy 3.6 with Eyesight. Besides being a boring car, it gets crappy mileage.
Thanks for your input.

My Catalina Blue Pearl/Ebony, Technology Plus and A-SPEC Package 8 Speed Dual-Clutch I freaking love love love my new car! There are so many more positives about this car then any negatives. I've test drove to many cars before my ILX and this had more room and felt more like home when I drive. Nice and cozy!
