Hey folks...I see the ILX is nominated for MT car of the year. Your thoughts, comments? As much as I would like to see the ILX succeed, I am not sure that given what I read on these car magazine reviews that it will deliver the punch to make through the top of the list...I could be wrong (unlike my career where I am wrong VERY often *lol*)

Yea, a much as I would love to see it, there is no way this will happen. Probably the BRZ, ATS, or Fusion...

 

yeah it would take a miracle to win; in the article they link to a comparison test that the ILX lost. But, hey, "nominated for motor trend car of the year" can start showing up in the ads.

 

I've tested the FR-S, ILX 2.4, and Focus ST. IMO, there is no way the ILX will win Car of the Year, but either of the others could. I know they're not direct competitors for the ILX, but the others achieve their design goals much more effectively, and are enormously more fun to drive. The Focus ST is in another universe as a driver's car, and while it isn't as luxurious as the ILX, its refinement is similar.
