Just Purchased ILX

Hey whats up guys.

I just got home from the dealership. I was originally looking at the Acura's rdx lineup. However, i walked into the showroom and the ILX caught my eye. I saw the price and it was pretty convincing. However, I also saw a TSX around the same price that was pretty nice. I test drove it and it was an amazing experience. The car was agile, responsive, and handled great.

We did the paperwork, and I was getting ready to purchase the 2012 tsx when I realized that the ILX came in a manual with the same engine as the TSX.

So, I made the decision to go with the ILX since I liked the body style a lot better and the car was going to be brand new with the same engine as the TSX.

The ILX reminded me more of a sportier car while the TSX was kind of a family sedan.

So currently I am waiting for them to ship the car to the dealer since the manuals are hard to find. It should be here on Monday.

I agree, the ILX is great. The TSX is a nice car, but it's 500lbs heavier with almost no more cabin space (definitely no more legroom) and the same engine. You get more trunk (by a little bit), more hood (so what?) and a bigger gas tank (this can be useful). If you want a faster, more nimble car with a manual, gotta go with the ILX.

Kinda amazing an RDX shopper ended up with an ILX. They seem to cater to quite different markets (this is coming from someone who, too, was considering both but couldn't justify the extra $$ for the RDX). I thought I was the only weird one!

I was originally planning on buying a SUV for the winter and what not. I was researching SUV's and the RDX seemed appealing because of its awd and 27mpg highway.

I took my dad in with me to buy the car today for a cosign, and he suggested that the car was not really for me (I'm 21) and that the ISX was something much more for my age group.

So that's how that came to it, I felt really unprepared since I usually research and compare cars before I even consider a purchase.

I'm glad it worked out this way. Btw I got the manual if anyone is wondering. It seems that there aren't a lot of manuals on here.

I went in to buy a TL and left with ILX myself, I loved the design, makes me feel like a kid again driving my old Integra.

ads...congrats on your new purchase! What color did you go with? There is no doubt that the 2013 is a great vehicle (I own one) but I agree that the ILX is a sharp looking car. I haven't test driven one yet but it sure looks nimble and fun to drive...reminds me more of what the 1st gen TSX was like.
