The other day while I was driving home there was a BMW 535i behind me and the car headlights had this really neat orange glow around the top of the headlights. I fell so much in love with that look, I was thinking about doing something to replicate that but without overdoing it on the ILX, since it already has the white LED strip under the headlights. I did notice though that the picture of the ilx aero kit which is used for marketing purposes has that slight orange highlight around the headlights? Is this something that Acura does on specific models or accessory upgrades, or is it more there just for looks in the image?



I looked around I I found something called DRL Flexible LED tubes with the orange/fire amber look, which is what I'm after, although I don't want it to be thick or distracting, just a very slight and mild highlight around the headlight to make the car look a bit more aggressive.





These are some images I found online, though that is too strong for my liking. Anybody has any ideas how I would be able to do it?

Personally wouldn't touch the light. I would be looking into an aftermarket module or some type of DIY re-wire like something similar the 3G TL switch backs. ILX already has that amber bar, no need to add anything. You just need it to be constant on while driving and still function (blink) as a turn signal.

 

The only LEDs the '16'x needs are fog lights, reverse lights, led license plate lights, and rear turn signal signals.
