Drive leather seat tear/damage

Hey guys,

Have any of you experienced any damage to your leather seats?

On the bottom of my driver seat, there is a small tear/scuff on the leather. My car is still under warranty, but I'm not sure to what extent leather seats are covered.

The car has been used under normal conditions and I'm not dragging keys across the seats when I sit.

Any advice?

Thanks,

seems like most don't have issues with the leather. A small number did, see here...

I try to condition the leather seats every other month if I remember

Yeah I read his post before I made this thread.

I will try to post some pics when I get home tonight to see if you guys think the seats are normal.

is that your trip A mileage? OR is that the total miles on the car

Any leather conditioner (some clean and condition) at Advance auto/Oreilly/walmart/target will work.

To me it looks like normal wear and tear with leather. But it doesn't hurt to complain to the dealer and see what they say.

That's my total miles on the car. My b12 service is almost due. I'm going to just install everything myself.

Thinking of getting K&N air filter and replacing cabin filter + oil change.

if you do the service yourself make sure you save all receipts to have a service "history" for warranty purposes and resale value.

for 3633 miles, the wear and tear on your leather seems a little excessive. I would have a chat with the dealer.

See what others on here say too

Hey, as lame as this may sound, you have to be aware of your jeans and buttons, zippers, etc. on the back pockets. My old civc got the leather worn down from me sliding in and out over the years, but I also noticed I had some Levi 514's and 511's with solid brass buttons that were also sliding against the leather. It wasnt a big deal because I was very careful about getting in and out, so the leather never tore. Those small tears look like they'd be in the same type of spots on your butt.

Acura used the cheapest leather in their cars

Had all the leather in my 04 TL replaced without questions from dealer.

One thing to remmember is if your chair get wet or if you use conditioner, wipe off all the excess right away or else the leather will shread, peel like paper

We have 2 2004 tl with black leather with same problems. The replacement leather hold up much better than original. Bad batch/vendor or something
