Coming back to Acura

Signed the paperwork last weekend for the base model ilx in Crystal Black.

Got a really attractive lease package, $0 down and $3000 delivery credit, 48mth.... etc.

I've owned Acuras in the mid to late 90's (my93 integra gs-r and my99 integra gs-r) so I am familiar with the honda family.

The ilx will be my daily driver, taking my current dd (my06 Saab 9-3 Stage 1 Turbo) off the road, possibly making it a project car.

Despite the lack of power on the base model ilx, I'm super excited to be back with Acura.

Should be picking it up tonight after work.

Pics will come shortly.

Soon as I hit the start/stop button everything shuts down, is there a way to keep the music playing while he car is off via bluetooth stream, radio, cd etc?

In other Acuras, if you have automatic, you put it in neutral then you can push the button and the engine will turn off with everything else on, then you put it in park. Not sure if new Acuras are any different.

Congrats! Be warned that the key fobs get tarnished very easily...be mindful of that when handling them.

Car looks good!!!!!

I know you said you might make the Saab a project car, but any plans to mod the ILX?

First weekend with the ilx, so far I am pretty impressed with the compliments I get from random people. I guess the car is still rare so most people never seen it before.

The ilx is not that bad performance wise then I originally thought. I went on a few hwy runs which surprised me passing a few cars. It holds well on turns and I feel planted similar like my integras I had back in the day.

The usb charger/plug doesn't work with my Blackberry z10 which I found annoying, any bb10 users with the ilx?

I can still charge the bb with the 12v charger so that's fine. Bluetooth and all other functions like voice and sms work fine.

Overall I'm really happy I choose the ilx over the volvos and vw's I was also considering.

Might be a dumb question but the radio is set to usb and not aux right? Try using the aux plug-in in the center console.

Hopefully you can do it like I have and just bluetooth connect your phone. Ive got my phone bluetoothed for pandora type radio. A 32g flashdrive connected to the usb with ALL my music so my car always has everything.
The ligher jack has a two female usb plug-in for both androids and iphones. And an aux cord for a 3rd music source if someone wants to play their iphone or whatever. All that plus the tech has onboard memory so all my CDs are saved there.
Haha I love it

I believe it's software related because soon as I plug the BlackBerry in to the usb charger my phone prompts me to install the BlackBerry Link sw. Instead of charging the battery it drains it lol.

So instead I have it connected to the cigarette lighter in the centre.

I also connected my 16gb usb stick with tons of music, by far my favorite feature of the ilx.

If my 2.4 was there, I'd give him a run for his money...unless he's a sh-awd model...

lol even if its a base 2012 hes got like 70hp on you. Bigger difference than the 2.4 ilx to 2.0 ilx. If you guys think you felt the difference between a 2.4 and 2.0 than the tl has you trumped.

His cars pretty quick but not that quick, it's a heavy ride. He always gave me that look every time I punched it in 3rd in my saab hahahahahahaa

Well the 2012 base tl comes 280hp stock.
Looks like a sh-awd to me unless he just purchased some sh-awd wheels and left the rest of the car looking stock.. doubt that. So I assume it's actually putting down 308hp.

Even if it was the base, it's still way faster than an ilx; 2.4 included.

I actually agree...without some serious mods, the 4G isn't as nice looking as the ILX.

I love the wood grain and the overall size of the TL. As well as its performance attributes.
VIP has been where Ive wanted to go the last few years so the TL would be right up my alley, just out of my price range.

Well, in that picture in particular, the headlights and lines on the car look nicer and more aggressive on the ilx. BUT, I do agree, overall, I love most of the acura lineup.

No need to do the neutral thing. If the car is running, pressing the button once shuts it off. Pressing it again with your foot off the brake turns on the radio/electronics, pressing it second time with your foot off the brake turns on the AC/window control, etc. Pressing the button with your foot on the brake starts the car.

Another trick you might not know. When you are walking to your ILX in the parking lot, press the door open button once, then press and hold a second time and all of the windows on the car will open at once to cool it off in a hot parking lot before you get in.

ohhhhhh snap thanks!!!! my saab has that open window feature too. I read in the manual you can do that with the actual key by turning it but had no idea you can do that with the button!!!!

Learn something new about the ilx daily from Acurazine!!!
