Apple CarPlay does not work when phone is low battery

I have an Acura ILX 2019 and I noticed that if my iPhone battery is less than 25% then the iPhone would not work on the Apple CarPlay. It would say something like “An error has occurred” or “the usb device is not compatible”. (I can get the exact error message, I just have to wait till my phone’s battery is almost dead lol). When I connect my almost dead phone to Apple CarPlay, it would also not “charge” the phone. Any advice or any setting I need to check?

Probably some battery saver option on your phone...

I have the same problem with my 2022 Acura ILX. When my iPhone battery is in the 20 percent area the CarPlay won’t connect and errors out with charging cable fault. I’m using a new OEM Apple cable. Have you had any success in solving this problem??

In my experience it is a low battery feature of iOS. It’s a hassle but you can still use CarPlay by adjusting a setting when this happens. Go to settings > screen time > content restrictions > allowed apps > scroll to CarPlay. I have found it will be off when I have the issue of it not working in my 2018 ILX
