^ I have one of them "shelf lamps" in my office, lol. That would probably look better...I may look into buying a pair for the living room. Good idea!

Yep, ran the Audyssey setup and I'm liking it a lot. My old receiver didn't have any crossover adjustments and, boy, does that make a difference! I'm now able to enjoy the full range my Paradigms produce and the sub fills in at exactly the right frequencies. Everything sounds better.

I am a little worried about the wattage rating of the receiver versus the wattage rating of my Paradigms. They all say "typical program 50 watts, amplifier range x-80 watts". I think I'll be ok since the amplifier ratings are at peak output (right?) and it's only 10 over what the paradigms max...but I don't want to blow any speakers!

Just don't run them at insane volume and you should be fine. Audyssey does make a big difference. I ran without it for a few days after I got the 2809ci. After I ran it, wow what a difference! I also learned about the difference between the "large" and "small" speaker setting. My Infinitys will run down to 60hz easily, but sound a lot better when set to "small"

By the way, here's some pics of them on the shelf lamps.

Don't mind the wires. When it cools off I'm dropping some in wall speaker wire and doing wall jacks. It'll look MUCH better afterwards.

The shelves elevate the speakers to a good level. A bit lower than they should be, but they sound good. And I have a shelf for my unused remotes

Hmm...I might look into a pair of those. I think I saw something similar on Target's website.

I threw together a center speaker stand Sunday. Used some plywood and extra speaker stand pieces I had...

I should probaby paint and/or stain it...lol.

I've seen the ones at Target and they're pretty much exactly what I have. I think they're a slightly different color. Judging by the build and even the box they come in, I think they're made by the same people. I did have to shorten the pull chain for the lamps just a hair to keep them from hanging directly on the speakers. Other than that, they're perfect.

So, the speakers I bought to replace my mains (which then my old mains became the new rears)...uh...dry rotted! . They were awesome while they lasted, and I saved them in case I decide to attempt to replace the speaker surrounds. Thankfully I didn't break the bank on them (yay eBay).

Soo, I decided to buy a new pair of Bose 301's. They've received mixed reviews, but after playing with my setup a bit they sound really good. My only worry was that they wouldn't pair well with my Paradigm center speaker, but everything sounds great! I'm very happy with them.

I had a set of 301 Series II back in the day. I was happy with them even though the base wasn't crisp. They hold there value really well. I got a good price for them on ebay and they were about 15 years old when I sold them.

That's good to know! Hopefully the series V's follow suit.
