Question What is HDCD/SACD/DVD-A?

Can someone please comment on these 3? Is HDCD the same as SACD?

Also, any recommendations on a good CD/MP3/SACD player? How about one with DVD-A?

BTW, is there a CD player that does DVD-A? Or will I have to get one that is a DVD video player as well?

i don't know much about hdcd (or even if i got the link right)
When I think of SACD and DVD-A I think more of the current build up to blue ray and hd-dvd though. The two factions fought eachother and eventually the whole thing kinda petered out as low quality mp3's became the norm.

I bought a denon dvd 2200 at the time though. It plays sacd and dvd fairly well, but the people who were looking for better fedelity went for the 2900 and moded it or something.
I think it's a good unit though. It doesn't do upscaling though, which is something I would want when shopping for a modern dvd player.
