I want some table top speakers for my computer, any advice? I don't know what makes a good speaker or the cost of one so any help would be great.

 

I've got a set of creative labs 2.1 and there great, 3 micro drivers in each and a sub, they pound very good for there size and were only 99bucks. These are today's equivalent, I got mine 3 years ago.

I have the JBL Creature II. You can find them for around $50. For the price they are really damn good.

 

i recently re-did my whole media center(new tv, bult comp, speakers) and was about to get these. Altec Lansing FX4021 but i got a little greedy and just went with a 5.1 home theater system hooked up. haha i was just too used to the 5.1. this altec lansing is a great product. my favorite feature is the remote, its hard to find a 2.1 system thats sounds great that comes with a remote, a wireless remote that is. i do admit the sub is a little obnoxiously big but u can hide it under a desk or behind something and it can still provide great sound. these are high quality and the satellite speakers look sharp with a modern designed wireless remote.
or u can go with these simple designed Logitech Z-2300 these are great too, its just that it doesnt have a wireless remote. (if u havnt noticed yet...im kinda lazy~haha) im really into sound so im sorry if im suggesting these high quality ones. both of these altec lansing and the logitech are great speakers systems. but if u wanna go a bit economic, u can go with sumin like this? Logitech R-20 its nice simple and cute, my cousin has it, its nice. well i hope i helped a little. =P

here's how sad I am with speakers, got my MBP and was surprised by the sound it made...thats how crappy all the speakers are in my house.
