^^ I've never seen it myself but the assistant store manager at my local Ken Crane's mentioned that the Samsung has had this separation problem. I didn't buy from Ken Crane's but his comment stuck in my head when I eventually decided on the Sony KDL-40z4100 ( Which has dropped another $200 since I bought it ).

Interesting place to have your first post.
I heard they had addressed the problem in the later models, but I'm not positive of that. Unless you are looking for the completely squared off frame, you could always just go with the 650 if it made you feel better. The differences between the 650 and 750 are minimal at most.

I heard that with the affected ones samsung has been really good about replacing them.

Just an update, I've been screwing around with media files and DLNA on both the 750 and my PS3. First I have to say I was amazed when I plugged my 16Gb flash drive into the Wiselink port and it played all the video files I had on board. Even better for non-HD downloads about (330mb for an hour tv show) the video quality was pretty darn good. the TV played them in full screen too This feature alone is pure WIN.

Based of the success of this I was pretty excited for streaming my content via DLNA from my PC that I finally got running again. Here I'm pretty disappointed. I was looking for a 1 program solution but this currently appears to be impossible. The PS3 supports DLNA as well in firmwares v1.8 and above AFAIK. As of now there is now solution that will share the same content via DLNA to both devices upon initial research it appears samsung has something funky going on in their DLNA controllers that handle Video only.

I'm using WMP11 to share my content from my PC to the PS3 and 750, which works great for everything except video content on the 750. On the PS3 Video, Music, Pictures all work 100% I guess I should say 98% because I had one video that wouldn't play However on the 750 only pictures and music worked using WMP11, this being said, the 750 could see and surf through all the video files shared it just couldn't play them (unsupported file format error). After some searching around I found some info on AVS that indicated the problem occurs in the handling code, and there's a slight difference between the samsung share software and WMP11 so this could be fixed in future firmware updates as it appears it's just some request error.

Also there is a program called TVersity that also works with the PS3 to share stuff via DLNA protocol, I had it installed and it worked, but for some reason AVG said it had a trojan horse so I removed it. Other users have not had this problem and report rather highly of the program so it's definitely just me that had this issue. While I had it installed it worked with the PS3 just fine, however I never tried it with the 750 but users are reporting the same issues as with WMP11 on the forums, however future versions of TVersity could be tuned to handle the samsung protocol and thus work fine, but as of now it has the same issues.

From what I read also the actual samsung software sucks and doesn't support many popular file types, so it seems to be a waste, that I don't really want to mess around with to be no better off than I am now.

Dougler. Thanks for the write up.

What format did you have the movie files in on the flash drive?

Has anyone hooked up their laptops to the TV through VGA? I tried last night and It's not being successful. The TV recognizes that I put in a PC output but it's not putting the signal through and after searching for signal the screen just goes black.

Any tips?

Thanks guys

I assume from your previous mention of VGA that you don't also have a DVI output on the laptop? If you do, you could just use a simple DVI to HDMI cable. I did that with my Macbook Pro to my Panny plasma and it worked fine. I believe when you try to use VGA, things can get very finicky with scan rates and so forth.

I have, it worked fine for me, I'm betting it's a setting in Windows that you needed to adjust.

Still haven't got around to it. I don't have a VGA cable but I do have a DVI to HDMI so I give it a try when I can.

Circuit City liquidation sale..... indeed it was beyond good. Beat all other stores by $100 or WAY more, at the time. I figured worst case scenario, I flip it for more than I got it for, but I had to consider my finances

Should have bought it...

I just hooked up everything I have through HDMI and this tv continues to amaze me after 4 months. I love it more and more the more I watch it.

Seems to only be going up in price on amazon. Up to $1729.

My Dad just got the 46" 7 series and loves it. I can only imagine the 8 series is that much better, the contrast is awesome, saw them at BB yesterday.

Hey Dom,

Was just scouring the internet trying to find someone having the same problem and saw your post. Hopefully, you'll find this. I wanted to know if you were still having the same problem. My ln46a750 is fine otherwise, but has the same problem where certain images, normally suits, netting, and other dark colored lines seem to be fuzzy and moving. The TV looks great otherwise, and it's such a minor thing relative to a lot of problems that people have, that I didn't feel the need to return it, but I was wondering how yours turned out. I've tried everything, but it still bothers me from time to time. Let me know how things turned out.....

I did come across a problem with picture quality though. I was watching the Raptor game in HD on TSN2 (hopefully Dougler was as well?) and the quality wasn't very good. It was better on TSN which was showing the Leaf game but I still found my DLP to have better pic quality in HD. Even the Nat Geographic channel which is typically amazing didn't look to good on the 750.

I played around with some setting and nothing. The most disturbing part was whenever they zoomed in at the B-Ball game people's suits and the black chairs looked all fuzzy like there was movement. Its hard to explain but it definitely. wasn't right. Players black uni's looked ok. But overall it wasn't as sharp as I'm used to.

So the Sammy took a sh1t yesterday, have to call Samsung. I posted the problem on AVS and someone stated that it's a common issue with the capacitors and that Samsung actually extended their one year warranty on this problem. I will be registering the TV with Samsung's website when I get home and will give them a call.

The guy stated that they change out the 10 vold capacitors with 25 volt and everything should be fine then.

The tv started turning on and off on its own constantly not even having the chance to get the picture on the screen. I had to pull the plug and let it rest

I really hope the SOB who now has my old 750 has suffered the same fate.

Maybe I should contact Samsung and see if it was ever serviced.

Just an FYI, the LNxxB750 is on crutchfield for 1399 with 24 months no interest... BTW what's the difference between the a750 and the b750?
