RIP: Pioneer Elite VSX-49TX, Now what!
I've just learned that my bad ass VSX-49TX bit the dust big time! They said that it may have got a big power surge and that the power supply is fucked along with other various parts and it's not worth fixing. IDK how, I got it plugged into a massive surge suppressor/line conditioner and everything else works. But either way there's a lot wrong with it. So now what do I do. I've got no Home Theater.
Should I go the separates route? Or get another bad ass receiver?
It's interesting noticing how much receivers have changed since I got my last one. iPod integration, USB input, ETHERNET input, dlna capable.
So what's hot right now in the world of A/V?
The rest of my system is 50inch Sony SXRD RPTV
Velodyne HGS-10
Klipsch Rf-5 fronts
Klipsch RC-7 center
Klipsch RS-7 surrounds
PS3
DV-59avi (don't use anymore)
Sony CDP-m555es multi disc CD changer (also don't use anymore)
The Klipsch since they're horn speakers have a high sensitivity of about 98db so I don't need some 250w amp, I good 120w will be more than I'll ever need.

I went through Pioneer (regular and elite series) receivers over the years and its seems it goes bad (right or left channel) and not worth fixing it. My choice for A/V receivers was either Yamaha or Denon...so I went with Yamaha RX-V1900 quite pricey but I'll keep this unit until it dies.

I've always wanted to get something from Adcom. 20 years now.

Oliver!!!
If you can still find one, get a Denon 3808ci. You'd have to get the iPod dock kit for it, but otherwise it would do everything your old one did. I've got a 2809ci and it impresses me every day.
