Offical Online Retailers Thread
Depends what your looking for, I'd start looking at www.audiogon.com or www.videogon.com they have equipment broke down so that it is easy to search by brand name or component type. While mostly used equipment sites, they also have a fair amount of new gear, but if your working with any sort of budget I'd strongly recommend used. Also from either site they have a lot of recommended dealers, the audiogon site even has a forum section that has probably any question you could have answered and in their archives. On the home page they both have a manufacturer's list which has just about every audio companies information, including website if they have one.

They have some very nice pricing on clearance items every now and then.

I've used visual apex www.visualapex.com and cannot recommend them enough.
I've also purchased from J&R, crutchfield (echo the above comment at their prices and website), 6th Avenue Electronics, and Hsu subs, and another place from San Diego that specializes in remotes. I'm blanking on their name right now (maybe Surf and Sound) but I got my Harmony Remote and a RF repeater there with no issues.

For cables, www.monoprice.com, their prices are low and their cables are of surprisingly high quality.
