like I said before, i have no idea on the subs and need one that can give good bass to a room 26 x 20 and room 22x20. budget for subs is max 550, might e abe to stretch to 575 if needed.
Suparookie, that is the reciever in the above link, how is the quality on it and is it a reliable brand?

I would say very reliable. It's pretty solid in term of construction. Someone told me the heavier the receiver/amps/processor, the better it is. I went with my co-worker to Fry's Electronics today and told him about the 605. How it was on sale online for $400. He said he likes the 805 and it was on sale. The sale rep surprising was knowledgeable and told us some good info. I told him that this receiver is really sweet for the price, but for what he needs, he should go with the 605. He said he'll take the 805 because it has "future" technology.

For the 605, even though you have a 2nd zone, you can only power on 7 speaker @ any time. But the 805, you can power all 7 speaker plus the 2nd zone. Very nice if you use the main zone and 2nd zone frequently.
