My TV picture suddenly starts getting jumpy...

it's an older 32 Toshiba and just started jumping. I reached back and checked the cable connection and it seems fine. When I moved it, I noticed the picture jump. So I smacked the side and it jumps. Could it something that is loose?

What type of tv is it? CRT, LCD, plasma? I'm not an expert, just curious. If it's a CRT, I'm guessing it has to do with the electron gun and scanning In any case, maybe it warrants a new tv purchase

I've had two CRTs that would go blank and come back if I whacked them. Both times it was bad solder joints that a TV dude was able to fix. Probably not worth to fix now. The TV guys like to charge you a flat rate just to look at it and then apply that amount to the repair if you go for it.

Sounds like the tube (CRT) is going out. Would cost more to fix than its worth. Go buy a new one for yourself my friend!

Be sure to recycle your old TV also, don't throw it in the garbage.

ok... Craigslist has a boat load of older 27 or 32". Debating whether I should buy a 32" LCD for $550.
