DVI to HDMI?

If I want to hook up a computer to an HD set... can I use a DVI to HDMI cable? I know HDMI is touchy so I want to make sure I can use it before I buy the TV.

The Samsung I am looking at (LN-R328W) http://www.samsung.com/Products/TV/L...NR328WXXAA.asp

Has a PC input, but its RGB-15/RD-15 not DVI... but it has 1 HDMI input... other alternative is S-Video...

I'm completely guessing here, but I think the key is making sure that the computer's video card and associated driver are capable of outputting the resolution and signal timings that are needed by your TV. I'd recommend browsing the HTPC forum at AVS.

I think this is the best advice here.

If you can answer yes to these questions... then you'd be in good shape with a DVI/HDMI cable....

I have a DVI-HDMI cable running from my pc to my HDTV. Haven't figured out the widescreen alignment yet, but as far as the signal goes, it works fine.

Welcome back

On topic, when I was shopping for a long HDMI cable I found more HDMI-> DVI and DVI->HDMI cables then I did regular HDMI cables.
