Best bang for the buck receiver?
I'm going to hang a LCD on the wall in the basement. I need to pick up a receiver that has at least 3 HDMI inputs and three optical inputs.
I don't need anything special otherwise. Not looking to spend any more than I have to.
Thoughts?

If you can change one of those optical cables to a coax you can get a refurb HK 154 for about $200 http://cgi.ebay.com/Harman-Kardon-HK...#ht_5279wt_941
What kind of power do you need on the outputs?

Coax won't fly. At minimum in need two opticals. One for the mac mini and one for the PS2. I'll let HDMI do audio and video for the DVR and BR.

If you're looking for best bang for the buck, I think Onkyo is the way to go. The one downside is Onkyo receivers tend to get much hotter than other brands, but as long as your receiver will be well-ventilated, it should be OK.
