Any advice on my new theater system I want to buy-Onkyo S7100
I am going to be purchasing myself a bundled home theater system, and have read countless reviews and artices and so much other stuff. I just want a solid high middle of the road system. I think I have decided on this one....http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-HT-S7100...4627269&sr=1-4
I know so little about all this stuff. This sounded like it has all the goods and has ipod dock included. One question i have thats important is it says it is sirius satellite ready, so since of the merger is now good for XM?
I also live in a townhouse. I am very conscientious of the neighbors. Is this over kill in that I wont be able to stretch its legs and therefor might just as well be better off getting a lesser system?
Any advice or comments are big time welcomed!

I'm not on the up and up when it comes to speakers much, but as far as your concern with the neighbors and considering a lesser system.
Don't.
Even if you didn't think you would feel comfortable pushing the limits of your system, a shitty system, is a shitty system.
I higher quality system at a lower setting will sound better than a lesser quality system at a higher setting. That being said, I'm not sure the reputation of Onkyo, so I can't vouch for that. That's my 2 cents.

Here is a subforum on avs.com that you can read up on Home theater in box and maybe ask around and get some more info

And to add to my previous post, if you ever moved somewhere to a single family home where you weren't right up against your neighbors, you'd then have a better system in which you could feel comfortable turning up the knob more.

Quality wise, Onkyo recievers are pretty reliable and a decent feature package. I personally find their sound to be a bit tinny, with a lack of full range sound. The newer units may produce a better full range sound then the older units, so it may have changed. I do not think their speakers are very good however. I think if you can build your system a little at a time, you will get a far better sounding system then a home theater in a box.
