What to look for when carpet shopping? (damn storm)

I actually heard Empire was good to deal with, anyone go through them?

Anyways we had some flooding in the area and part of the carpet in the basement got wet. Luckily the most water was in the kitchens basment.

yep.

It was pretty bad and one of the worst storms i seen around here. WE dont get nearly as much action as you southern guys do.

Damn, I heard some crazy stuff went down, but I didn't know it was that bad! I was in the city and we barely saw any of this. Guess my rents got lucky too, though they are more west of you.

Empire wants $4500 for carpet.

Holy crap, i thought this could have been done for under $1k.

Have you had someone come and look at the damage? Mold can easily buildup in the walls if it's not taken care of.

no but i have had fans on and just now put a dehumidifier in there.

Should i get new carpet or go with laminate?

I think all your stereo equipment was damanged too. That looks like at least a $10,000 stereo system. Better let your insurance company know...
