this morning i stepped in a large puddle in front of the fridge... after investigation, i noticed that the water dispenser on the door was dripping and must have been all night...

anyway, the water dispenser stopped working for a few years now... when i call for water, i can hear the switch inside the door click... so i assume that the switch isn't bad... but all of a sudden now it is dripping water...

any ideas? inlet valve on the back of the fridge? how do i test if the valve is dead?

im leaving work early to move the fridge out so i can access the back... will get up the fridge model number, but would appreciate if anyone can tell me how to diagnose the valve and switch.

To stop the water, it should have a valve under the sink you can turn off.

Could also be melting ice if your freezer is defrosting.

i took off the cover on the front bottom of the fridge and disco'd the line from the back of the fridge that goes up inside the freeser door... so it isn't dripping from the dispenser anymore but at where i disco'd the line at the bottom...

i turned off the valve... it was tapped from the basement laundry line... but the weird thing is that after i turned off the valve, the water is still dripping... i think that maybe it is just clearing the lines out...

replaced inlet water valve.. no more leak... works like a champ now...
