Vaccum??
I have just installed laminate hardwood flooring in my house, and the bedrooms are still carpet, I would like a vacum that I can use on my hardwood floors that does not run the brush so it only sucks and you can toggle the brush on and off. I would also like it to be bagless only.
Please make any suggestions if possible if you own one. My folks have a whole house vaccum system and have the attachment for hardwood flooring.
thanks for the help in advance.

We have a Kenmore Progressive vacuum similar to this: http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes
Actually, that's pretty much ours... just the newer version (ours is 4 years old). It works great and can be used on all floor surfaces.
About a month or two ago I went out and bought the Roomba... so we have that also. I use that on our first floor which is all hardwood (except for the Master). I run it once per week and it saves me tons of time vacuuming. Since I bought it I think I've used our regular vacuum once... and that was to vacuum the upstairs before company arrived. And since we really don't use the upstairs (I just use my office), we only need to vacuum up there 4-6 times per year... so I just run the Roomba and save myself an hour and change of vaccuming.

Bissell makes a few that have a toggle switch for the beater bar. I got mine a few months ago from Amazon for ~$100. It's a great vacuum. Looks like they raised their price on it. Still a great vacuum.

When I bought it it was $279.99 (which I think is still the current price for the Discovery). Got 15% off (Linens-N-Things) plus a $50 gift card... so it wasn't that bad of a deal. No knockoffs that I've seen, and if there were, I wouldn't trust them. You should be able to find it on eBay... you can find anything on eBay.
