$725 for that is out of this fucking world
You're sure you're builder doesn't allow you to hire outside contractors to do certain work like this if you're really interested in doing it? Some things you obviously can't do this with when dealing with a builder (like framing or electric), but this is different. No way in hell I'd pay that.

Yeah, it's not like THEY own the land. How can they stop the homeowner from bringing someone else in to do something as long as they're not there at the same time and getting in the way, or creating more work for the builder. On the fllp side they could say I won't warranty this badboy unless it's ALL BUILT BY ME.

Scott, Jeremy is right....he is not allowing me to bring an outside contractor....he says "that will void the warranty"
I found a guy who does great tiling work and basement work...that dude is not only quick but he also is very cheap and offers satisfaction guarantee....I asked the builder if I could have the basement done from this guy while they were framing the upstairs and doing electricals....he told me "go for it, but this will void warranty....and if anything messes up in the house of if things go missing, I will be liable for it"
At that point I just dropped the idea and thought that I will get it done later

gotta love BLUE...smooth as fuck...and it better be at 200+ for a bottle....
the first time i tasted that was at a friends party and I was like damn....i bought a bottle and took it for my dad and now we both are hooked to it....
since 200 a bottle was expensive for scotch, I decided to try Glenfiddich 15/18 years....they come in at 60-70 bucks a bottle and are awesome....try Glenlivet as well....that is decent scotch as well...

haha yeah....we already got married in court (well actually had the priest come over and we signed the "rip mang" papers LOL....but an Indian wedding is due....
we were planning to go to India and do a formal wedding....and hell they are expensive....also because you have like 500 people in the wedding plus an atleast 3-4 day function plus since we (Indians) are so very hospitable we pay for the relatives travel/hotel/living/all other expenses for those 3-4 days....so when we got a quote it was coming to USD70-80K for 200odd people and ~100K for 400 people....

For you non-brown folks....wanna know why divorce is so low with Indians....

Anytime.
My sis had a traditional Indian wedding with hundreds of people. I went for the simple small 7 minute wedding at a B&B. I liked my way better.
Is your girl Indian as well?

i think there is still a lot to do, got electricals/HVAC/dry walls/painting/flooring/cabinetry/etc
yeah that was a small ass office and we bumped the wall to make it into a 5th bedroom....We plan on using it as a prayer room for now and when my parents move in with me later down the line they can have that room as they wont have to climb stairs and stuff
yessir...hardwood on the main level including the 5th bedroom and all closets/etc....carpet on the stairs, hardwood on the landing/upstairs corridor....carpet in the bedrooms upstairs....tile in all the baths
oak was standard in couple areas but dont like that wood at all....rustic oak was an upgrade but its still oak....
rustic maple was a great option but slightly more expensive than rustic hickory and that wood gets messed up by stains and it "soft" (if you will) and gets damaged pretty easy....hence Rustic hickory seemed like the "better" choice....
all that is my wife's theory
