Squeaky doors

What do you guys find best for a squeaky hinge on a door? I find that using regular oil or WD-40 can sometimes drip and stain carpet or tile below. What do you guys use? White grease? Just looking for a better alternative.

Thanks.

Pull the hinge pins out(one at a time) and put some graphite onto it.

Use WD-40, but place a rag behind and underneath the hinge you a spraying, and you will have no overspray or drips. Remember, a little goes a long way...you don't need to drench the hinges in WD-40.

That's what I do... just grab a can of wd-40 and a paper towel...

I pull the pins (one at a time) and clean them, then hit them with some silicone spray. Wipe off the excess and put them back in. Works well and no drip.
