My girlfriends old roomate, who needless to say is one of the dumbest people I know, just realized that her new apt does not have a shower but only a bathtub. Do they make any sort of hose type attachment with a shower head on it that will attach to the lower water spout?

Yeah what Ravi posted. It looks like you'll have to remove the tub spout and add the new one which has a diverter (thing that tells the water where to go). Most, if not all just screw off. Not sure what kind of water pressure she'll get from it.

 

Believe it or not, the water presure is not too bad. A friend of mine lived in a really old building in Queens and had one of these in her bathroom. It was not too bad. The only thing that sucked is trying to get the "shower head" to face down.
