Shower Renovations

So, the shower pan in my master bath is completely done, the shower is useless at this point. I'm thinking about surprising the wife and getting it replaced, any idea what kind of expense I'm looking at(even a rough guess)? The tile on the walls and floor has already been removed.

I'm considering one of those one piece things that covers the entire shower area and also just re-doing the tile and getting a new shower pan put in. Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated!

It's impossible to get an accurate estimate given that information. You mention a one piece unit but also a separate show pan. Which is it? As with anything else, it depends on the quality of materials used and how much of the work you'll be doing yourself.

I paid a pro to do this a few year back. I had some water damage because the pan was leaking. I got a new pan, walls, glass doors, faucet, new drain, new sub floor, new sheet rock on first floor (it was leaking). It cost about $4k and took 3 guys 3 days. There is no way I would have been able to do it myself. There was no tile work involved with mine.

You can get a redi tile shower pan that you just add the tile to. Or you can create a tileable shower pan yourself. Its cheaper but requires alot more work that the redi tile. or you can just buy a plastic shower pan that doesnt get tiled which is the easiest way. I would need to know EVERYTHING you want done to give you a round about estimate. Even then someone else may charge you alot more depending on their labor rate and materials used.
