Sealing a front door

I'm moving into a new place. My front door does not hold in/out sound well. There's a gap at the bottom, & around the door. How can I fix this?
I saw these weather strip things that go around the door & something that could go at the bottom at lowes. Do I just need something like this?

Thanks

Should be weatherstripped around the frame and the threshold should adjust to seal tightly with the sweep.

When you say "gap" - are you seeing daylight and/or feeling a draft?

Feel draft around the door, I can see light from the bottom, & I had my TV at a normal volume & could hear it clearly outside my door from about 5 feet from the door. I can also hear outside sounds clearly inside the house.

So I removed the rubber strip around the door frame & replaced it with a thicker new one. The door seals great now, but it's a little tight now. I have to pull the door hard to close it & the dead bolt takes some force to lock now.
The sound is better, but still not the what I was looking for. I think the door needs to be replaced with something more solid.

Move the strikeplates back a fraction of an inch and you will have tight and easy to close.

The strikeplates can not be moved, I tried yesterday. No adjustment. I'm fine with it for now.

Should be able to take a small wood chisel and adjust the opening to move the plate, unless it is already at the stop.
