School Me On Pressure Washers

Yes I searched but most of the info was too dated.

I am looking for a pressure washer.

I have a wood deck about 20x15, brick patio about 12x12 and a pair of brick walkways. And of course the siding of the house. I'm not as big on cars like I once was so lets say I'll wash the car with it from time to time.

The current condition of the deck is good. The brick is dirty but not too bad.

Do you all think I can get away with an electric one?

This one is a 1700 psi / 1.3 gpm with steam.

Similar one without steam.

Non-Craftsman one

Or should I go with Gas.

I'm a little concerned with what I have read about the maintenance with the gas powered ones.

Thoughts / Suggestions / Advice?

People may laugh but I bought this one about a year ago from Harbor Freight and it's been great.
They took my 20% coupon and I paid $20 for a 2 year warranty on it. Any issues I bring it back and they replace it.

Do not go with electric, too weak. I have a gas one, it's a few years old, Honda engine, I think mine is 2800 psi. No maintenance issues on mine. The Honda engine is shockingly loud (compared to the Honda mowers and generators I've used). I like the idea of steam though, would come in handy cleaning the gas grill and my engine compartment.

Edit to my post...To be honest I've never used an electric one so I shouldn't say they're too weak, I have no experience with them. I went with gas because I wanted more power in case I needed it. I have a two story house with white siding and need to wash it every year and needed the power to spray to the second level from the ground.

I have used both gas and electric. The electric ones are weak compared to the gas ones but it really depends on the job. For what you want I'd recommend you get a gas powered unit. And FYI I would stay away from Troy Bilt, their warranty services suck, had a bad experience with it with my gas trimmer.

If you are looking to buy in lowes look at the Generac brand, it has good reviews and the price has been falling. Most of them comes with different nozzle attachment for what the job calls.

This, if you have a two story house and want to do the siding you need more power.

Here is a guide on how to size http://www.pressurewashersdirect.com...re-Washer.html

I picked this up yesterday.

I haven't opened it up yet so I can't really give you a review but it was on sale until today at Sears for $270. Not bad considering the electric ones were $200 for about 1000 PSI less.

Nice, I like that it has a small tank there for cleaning solution if you choose to use one. Mine just has a hose to nowhere.

does that hose draw vacuum? If so just dunk it in a bottle of your favorite cleaning solution.
