Bosch dishwasher...oh man, this thing is SO quiet. Thats huge because of our open kitchen/living room. Used to have to wait to run the dishwasher so you could hear the TV. Now, you can't even tell its on. And their racks are ultra configurable, plus the 3rd rack. I mean...I'm sporting wood over a fucking dishwasher!!!!
Yep, the new ones are awesome. We got the kitchenaid over the bosch because it was on sale but it's so quiet that you can't hear it. Have the third rack too but I kind of wish we didn't get it...not a fan of it.

3rd rack? Is there not a propeller thing that'll get wacked? I have a 2 rack dishwasher (2015) but can't put baking trays since they're too wide.

Bits and pieces. Finally got the last 3 Nest Protects hooked up.

Few more issues to figure out. Other work that needs to get done. Holidays to now work around as tonight is the start of Passover and my contractor and all the workers are Jewish.

Have the paint guy here working on the bathroom and filling the cabinet gap in the kitchen, and the electrician. Then, people will be back on Wed.

Painters are here finishing up the kitchen soffit and the bathroom.

Im going to have to have the electricians come back and fix the LED strips under the cabinets. They did a shit job gluing them up there and they are sagging and falling off in places. I also want them to install a dimmable transformer, which I had said from the beginning.

Still need the microwave hung and installed. Need cabinets finished (interiors in the kitchen, everything in the bathroom) and I need finished done...medicine cabinet, fixtures, shower door.

Otherwise, its shaping up. My community was offering $50 off on Ring doorbells, so I ordered a pro model yesterday. It arrived today, and I just installed it.

Painters chipped one of the new cabinet doors...guess they are replacing that. The rivets on their jeans also scratched swirls in my fridge doors...I can't feel the scratches so I'll try some stainless cleaner before saying the contractor has to fix that, too.

Always something.

i imagine smooth walls in an earthquake prone area would be a nightmare of repair work every time a tremor hit.

Thats true. Though matching texture is a pain in the ass, too. Some are better than others...The guy working on my place...dont think he is so great at the texture matching...

Seems to work well. I've been playing with the motion zones...biggest problem is that I live right near the elevator so I get a lot of foot traffic...so it alerts me every 5-10 minutes that is senses movement by the door

So as I mentioned I switched out all my recessed lights (12 in total) to LED retrofits by a company called Hyperikon. I went with 3000k because I didn't want blueish white and I didn't want too warm.

Well, I finally had the bathroom vanity light installed today and I again went with Hyperikon. This time for the LED bulb that have a bit of a classic look to their internal element. And again I went 3000k. Such a great company/Product. Very happy with it.

Found 8 cracked tiles on the smaller vertical tile wall in the shower. I have enough left over, they will send their guy to replace them. I when the painters went in to do the bathroom that somehow put pressure on them...or maybe they settled, no idea.

I also have people being sent over to finally install the microwave.

And some of the new furniture we ordered is also coming.

Gonna be a busy Sat.

Furniture people are having an issue with their truck..no furniture today.

Microwave is up. So, for intents and purposes the kitchen is minus some internals with the cabinets.

Before
After

I just picked up a 1950's mid century cabinet/desk.

Its got some character to it...some drinks rings, chips, etc. If I wanted to I could probably refinish it...

BUT the question is, I bought it to function as my office/desk....would I be stupid to alter it to make a hole in the back to run a power cable? Its the same sunburst finish on the wood on the back as you see on the front.

route and run the cables out of the top, I'd feel like a dirty dirty whore putting a hole saw to that sunburst panel.

He might take that as an insult.

I think for home decoration compliments I stick with "wow, that looks like a :ghey: man lives there!"...
especially in Hollywood (FL) and the nice condos on the beach, they usually have the best decorated places.

Wilton Manors. My sister's ex boss' house was a fucking museum.

The Ikea setups look good IMO. Obviously the quality he bought was better. Similar modern style.

We looked at IKEA. Their measurements were off for us. But we lots of high end homes that installed them. They have a good warranty.

I guess their run in the mill little house knick knacks are whatever. So their cabinetry is good huh?
