Rolling Outdoor Planter

I want to build a small rolling outdoor planter using galvanized pipe and a soil tub.

I think I have the frame planned out, but I need the tub that the soil will sit in.

I would like something like the tub pictured here:

But i am totally unable to find anything like that online.

Any ideas?

The one pictured retails for around $150, so no way I will simply "buy it"...

Amazon.com : Behrens 3-OV 16-Gallon Oval Steel Tub : Tub For Drinks : Patio, Lawn & Garden Amazon.com : Behrens 3-OV 16-Gallon Oval Steel Tub : Tub For Drinks : Patio, Lawn & Garden

I searched "trough" on Amazon. There is a plastic option too.
Amazon.com: Tuff Stuff Products KMT18 Oval Tank, 18-Gallon: Patio, Lawn & Garden Amazon.com: Tuff Stuff Products KMT18 Oval Tank, 18-Gallon: Patio, Lawn & Garden

I'm sure local farm equipment stores would have similar stuff too.

Thanks, had not seen that plastic tub. Was trying to avoid the metal ones, I need a decent lip on the top edge to hold it into the metal tube frame.

Perhaps window box planters are what you are looking for.

The scale of the planter is hard to tell from the photo.

I have seen that one in person and it's about 4x2x2 so the window box ones are just too small.

EDIT: website says "height 23" width 15.5" length 33" depth 12-14"" ( http://stores.foodmapdesign.com/foodmap-container/ )

I've seen some robust commercial storage containers that might work

http://endural.com/modular-tote-boxes-other/ - like these

The last one on the list is just a tad short though. Also this stuff is always hard to find a source for that doesn't require you have an account.

When it comes to plants, Stogie likes to roll his own.

The price of the commercial tubs alone will probably make the one in the OP look like a steal.

Get a giant rubbermaid storage container? Should be able to get the size you want. Why do you need one that's 2 feet tall?

Well, settled on a plastic tote.

Drilled some holes in the bottom for drainage, painted it orange, filled the bottom with gravel (about 3-4") then the rest with potting soil.

Added 6 herb plants, all in the 4" pot size, very small.

Mint (left in pot, planted directly into soil to control spread)
Chive
Dill
Basil
Rosemary
Oregano

After about a month, the results:

The basil is kind of out of control! We are going to make some pesto this weekend to trim it back a bit. The dill is behind it and frankly the basil is shading the dill too much. I am used to dill taking over and growing large, so I put in the back, woops... Who would have known...
